GenAI Adoption Accelerates Among Irish Adults

According to Deloitte Ireland’s Digital Consumer Trends 2026 report, 64% of Irish adults have used generative AI between 2023 and 2025. More significantly, daily usage has surged from just 2% in 2023 to 11% in 2025, signalling rapid normalisation of the technology in everyday life.

Generational divides remain stark: 83% of Gen Z in Ireland report having used GenAI tools, compared with 57% of Gen X—a 26-percentage-point gap that underscores how adoption clusters among younger cohorts.

Workplace Adoption Nearly Doubles

GenAI adoption at work is rising sharply. Deloitte Ireland found that 46% of Irish workers now work in organisations that actively encourage AI use—described as nearly double the 2024 figure.

However, the funding picture reveals a significant gap. While 65% of Irish workers use free external GenAI tools at work or pay for them personally, only 35% work for an employer who funds enterprise GenAI solutions. This suggests many organisations are yet to commit formal resources to GenAI infrastructure and governance.

Irish Workers’ Outlook on Jobs

When asked about GenAI’s impact on employment, 68% of Irish consumers believe GenAI will reduce job numbers but not eliminate roles entirely—a nuanced view that acknowledges transformation over wholesale displacement.
